Questions, answered plainly.
We already run OJS and it is free. Why would we pay?
If your OJS is well maintained and someone has the time to keep it that way, keep it. Societies come to us when that person is a volunteer, when the plugins have drifted, or when they also need a conference and a membership register, which OJS does not provide.
Will you get our journal into Scopus, DOAJ or PubMed?
No, and be careful of anyone who says yes. Those are editorial decisions by those organisations. We publish your metadata in the formats indexers read, so your metadata is not the reason an application fails.
Do you register DOIs?
Not today. We record the DOI you assign and publish it with each article's citation tags and harvesting records.
Do we have to take all three modules?
No. Start with one and add others when you need them. Two modules are 20% off, three are 35% off.
What happens if we go over a tier's limits?
Nothing stops. Apart from email credits, limits are reviewed, not enforced. We tell you, and you have 30 days to adjust or change tier.
Do you handle our money?
No. Online payments settle to your own Paystack account. We are not a payment processor.
Can our members pay by bank transfer?
Yes, in every module. They upload the receipt and your staff approve or reject it.
Can our conference invoice include membership dues?
Not today. Delegates invoice for their abstracts and conference registration; members pay dues in the Membership module.
Does it handle our conference programme and check-in?
No. The Conference module covers abstracts, decisions, invoices, letters and proceedings. Use it alongside your event app.
Can we get our data out?
Yes, at any time, and much of it without asking us. When you leave we keep it for two months for you to export, then delete it.
How long until we are live?
Setup itself is quick. Most of the waiting is on pointing your domain to us, which is on your side. Start that first.
Who else uses Fellova?
We name clients only with their permission. Ask at your demo.
